“Literary history is always a sentence for the one who writes in the present, where all the books are finished and function as monuments, arranged like someone who walks a square at night. A true literary history would have to be made about books that have not been finished, about unsuccessful works, about the unpublished: there would be found the truest climate of an era and a culture.” Ricardo Piglia
In this play, Flores Cárdenas proposes to investigate the zero point of the theatrical phenomenon: the body itself. The same guy who typed and breathed from the shadows is going to come out on stage for the first time. But being on stage is acting? Where does fiction begin? Where does it end? No hay banda deconstructs a play while building another, one in which a playwright tests the materiality of his body, the main actor in all utopias.
