We went out to run the tango, to jump to fall on the other side and see it from a distance from the outside. We listen to it sitting down, we watch it standing up, a few years after a golden era that no longer exists. All that remains is a nostalgia for the old music of Buenos Aires and a dance devastated by the cultural industry. We are preparing to put into tension what has been done so far with this dance, and with the figure of Astor Piazzolla and his music. This is not the repetition of a tribute, it is not a “tango” show, it is a question that seeks to generate another poetics, another universe, another language.

NOESTANGO is the result of two years of research carried out by the noestango Group and raises a question about tango as an artistic expression, taking into account its glorious past and its present so marked by a cultural industry that strives to keep it intact and with few possibilities to reinvent itself.

Five dancers in search of rediscovering their artistic identity in the twilight of the tango fashion. Five musicians who appropriate and bring to their present canonized and untouchable music. They are united by the question of what to do today with that legacy, of which only nostalgia remains for the old music of Buenos Aires and a dance devastated by the cultural industry.
