René was abandoned in the family factory when he was ten years old. Since that moment: How long has it been? He can't know that. Now he is stained with blood and he doesn't understand why. He tries to control his thoughts, but the words howl, hit and pierce, like a nail to wood or teeth to flesh. Blood. Sawdust. Barking. His thoughts are unleashed with no turning back. MUERDE is a solo thriller, almost police, in which René will try to find out where his wounds come from; while Rosa and his past haunt him in everything he kept silent.
AUTHOR'S WORDS:
MUERDE arises from the impact that an event that takes place in Rosario, province of Santa Fe (Argentina) causes me. A man steals a cell phone on a bus and the passengers decide to execute him. They start a beating and end up lynching him. This fact is beginning to be reproduced in several locations in the interior of the country. I was on tour in Colombia with a show in which I was performing and I think that the geographical distance had a greater impact on me. At the same time I was trying out writing a single-character play and those impressions ended up giving life to René. Theater always raises more questions for me than answers and this material tries to place the viewer in an active role trying to confront our own prejudices.
